Twilight 1

Twilight is bad for you. It is bad for a nation, nay, a world of young women growing up thinking that this is what love is, thinking it's all right to behave like Bella. Thinking that being a damsel constantly in distress who, literally, cannot stand on her own two feet (Seriously, chick falls down, like, all the time. With no provocation.) is an acceptable, even enviable way of life. Twilight is bad for you. But it is surprisingly not THAT bad as a movie-going experience. Don't get me wrong, it's bad, it's just not THAT bad. Which is a shame. If it were just a bit worse it might have been entertaining. As it is, it's just really boring and nonsensical. And that last point cannot be overstated. These movies make NO SENSE. I could go on and on for some time about the sense they don't make, but I won't. At least not yet. We have at least one and possibly several more Twilight comics to come, so you never know what I'll say then.

What is not bad, not bad even a little, not bad in the least, is the young lady who plays Alice Cullen. Good gravy that chick is sun-like. Smoldering and scrumptious, like a smore hot off the fire.

It's also worth pointing out, I feel, that in my country this is a national day of thanksgiving. And while I distrust the holidays in general, and don't care for any of the thanksgiving foods (except, of course, Cool Whip) ideologically I'm way, way down with setting aside at least one day a year to proclaim our gratitude for the people who keep us afloat and, more than alive, living inside this dizzy life.

On this day and in all my days I am grateful for you all. Some more than others.

Get a beverage of your choice and give thanks, because life is good.
